25 percent of the world’s population do not have a classic address.
According to Google, around 25 percent of humanity, i.e. around two billion people, either do not have a classic address in street and house number format, or they have an address that is very difficult to find.
Of course, Google has a technical solution for this. It might however be worthwhile to also consult the atlas of informality. I presume that the majority of the people without an address live in informal settlements. Numbers somehow coincide:
An estimated 25% of the world’s population live in informal settlements.
While more than 60 percent of the world’s total population is now online, the many people without a classic address, and those living in informal settlements, may not benefit yet from Google’s technical innovation.
